Alexis Lara
My name is Alexis and I came from Venezuela. Music, particularly Latin rhythms, are a essential part of our culture. So when I decided to move abroad, I thought it was going to be extremely difficult for me to stay in touch with Latin music. As a health practitioner and fitness instructor, I struggled to find an activity that combines dance and Latin songs into a fitness program, and Zumba did it! When I moved here to Sydney 2009, I never thought that the Zumba program was going to be such an important part of my life as it is now. Encouraging people to exercise while smiling and having fun, and wanting to come back to a Zumba class week after week, interacting with so many participants with different backgorunds and fitness levels, and building new and strong friendships with some participants and other Zumba instructors, have made my journey as a Zumba instructor an amazing experience so far. Please join us in one of our classes to ‘party into shape’.

My name is Simone and from the moment I attended my first Zumba class 8 years ago I knew I had to be involved in this amazing program.
After having my beautiful kids I decided it was time to leave the corporate world and follow my passion. I now enjoy working with children as a PE Coach in Primary Schools and I have been teaching Zumba for 3 years.
I am passionate about health and fitness and believe it is important to find an activity that you enjoy. I think of Zumba as exercise in disguise. It’s not only good for you, Zumba brings people together! it’s a real community.

Diana Ortiz Diaz
My name is Diana and I’m originally from Venezuela, as a typical Venezuelan or Latin American I have always been surrounded by music specially Merengue and Salsa, I think I learnt to dance before I learnt to talk.
I have been living in beautiful Sydney since 2007 and I absolutely love the city, I think is the best city in the world!!! I started teaching Zumba in April 2010.
Zumba is part of a career change, my background is from corporate.

ZUMBA® KIDS
Zumba® Kids is a high-energy fitness-party, designed exclusively for kids (ages 4-11). Each class is packed with specially choreographed, kid friendly routines and all the music kids love, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more.
Zumba® Kids classes are usually split into two main groups. Zumba® kids Jr. classes are for kids aged 4- 6 years old while Zumba® kids is for kids 7- 11 years old.
The goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle and to incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives, not just as a class they attend once a week. While exercise is a very important part of childhood development, Zumba® Kids also considers other aspects (see below).

Teaches:
ZUMBA GOLD®
Zumba Gold is a special class designed for the active adult population or the true beginner (deconditioned) participant. A Zumba Gold class, is very conscious of people’s possible physical limitations.
The steps are generally simpler than in a normal Zumba class, more repetitions, less fancy crossings of the legs and hips. It potentially caters for people who may be out of shape, or maybe had a hip replacement, past injuries, delicate joints and knees, overweight or just want an easier start.
Zumba Gold is all about safety.
However, participating is a Zumba Gold class, one still moves, sweats and SMILES. It’s still lots of fun and a good work out. It’s really good for beginners and for all those concerned with “not being able to get the steps” Instructors trained in Zumba Gold are taught about the anatomical, physiological, and psychological needs specific to these populations. The course even includes a Zumba chair workout.
While Zumba Basic is designed to teach the general exercising population, Zumba Gold is specifically designed to teach the active older adult.
